Another terrific week in Maine for the Virginia student- take a look at her previous visits a year ago here and last summer here.
Started the week with the final night of Gardens Aglow at Boothbay Botanical Garden- what a magical event, highly recommend if you're in the area.
What did we do all this January week? Two big themes- hiking EVERY DAY, and baking sourdough EVERY DAY. Doesn't that sound like a wonderful week?
Hikes ranged from Tracy Shores, Plummer Point, Huston Landing and Salt Bay Farm. Often we were the only people on the trail, and made the only foot/paw prints in fresh snow. Temps were chilly, not gonna lie, but we dressed for the outings and had a great time.
Our foray into sourdough baking had some ups and downs, but we had a strong finish with a boule loaf from Blanca's recipe, and a second batch of pretzel bites. Yummmmm!
