Spontaneity

So Beth & Heather were always planning to visit Maine over 4th of July week ... for ALL the reasons you can imagine. What wasn't planned was a last minute visit from Cailyn! Who says we can't all be flexible and spontaneous! And it was well worth the leap.

Cailyn booked her travels with <24 hrs lead time, hopped a Monday morning plane direct to Portland, Beth picked her up mid-day while Heather worked, and we were all ladies of leisure by suppertime.

The week was filled with a whole lot of nothing- no stress, no plans, no worries. We ate good food, took hikes, enjoyed evening paddles to watch the sun set on the cove, snuggled with the pups, inflated a boat (thanks, Dave!), visited with Uncle John and all treasured each other's company. Phew! I guess we were actually somewhat busy, now that I tally it all up.

And good news? Cailyn and all her cousins (oh, and parents & grandparents too) will all be back in 3 short weeks. More good times in Maine!
