Our own time in Maine is so focused on the ocean, but let's not forget that an enormous portion of Maine revolves around the lakes and mountains. Beth's lifelong friend Allan, Kara and their pup Summit moved nearby Highland Lake in Bridgton, and we spent a wonderful day visiting them before the busy summer schedule got going. Actually, you would never have known it wasn't summer- the weather was warm and pleasant, we spent the day outside, even got in an afternoon boatride on the lake.
Back home, we took in a terrific art show at our local library- excited to discover this new artist Gwendolyn Evans, and we especially liked this piece entitled "Transforming Power of Truth."
End of the weekend gift was the discovery of a patch of lady slippers in our woods- what a treasure!
Lovely! Have a wonderful summer! Love, Aunt Jean and Uncle John
