Beating the unusual June heat with as much time on the water as possible ... made much more joyful by the kind and generous invitation from our friend Carl, who took us for a day trip out to Eastern Egg Rock (Yes, we saw puffins. They're really small! I was so mesmerized I got no photos.).
College friends Jean & Jim visited from MD, and we had such a fun time.
Although the puffins were small, here's what was NOT small- the stunning bald eagle perched on the branch on our cove! We kayaked and floated below the bird for quite a while, and s/he didn't seem much bothered by us. What a gift.
Sounds like a perfect June to me. :)
