Shoreline cleanup

Dec and Jan brought major storms, mostly with sopping wet rain (not snow) so the ground was very soft and saturated... meaning trees toppled left and right, roots topsy turvy up in the air, quite dramatic. When the dust finally settled (by which I mean, the power came back on) we assessed the damage. All cosmetic, I'll grant you, no damage to the house of any sort, but lots of clean up.

This oak began its fall in a Dec storm (see the 45degree angle?), finally landing horizontal in a Jan storm. Bonus if you can spot the wildlife in the second photo. Charlie, don't give it away.

Here are some fallen tree photos, including whole trees which just fell off the berm and into the ocean. Occasional dog for scale. The waves washed out underneath the soil and entire root balls were left on the shore! Plus a bonus set of the neighbor's steps. On the plus side, Maxx salvaged not one but TWO tennis balls in the wreckage. Double bonus, we got the stairs back to the neighbor.

And now, after incredible work by our tree guy, the place looks better than before. Onward!
