Shoreline cleanup

Before we built our house, the land was woods.  Which means that the waterfront was also woods.  Trees, trees and more trees.  Beautiful, rustic, and natural.

In search of a way to make the shoreline feel more accessible, early on we found a spot to place two Adirondack chairs, and that seemed like a good enough vantage point from which to view... our trees.

Summer of 2019, it was time to really clear out some space, cut up fallen branches, pile up the small brush, and make the area comfortable.  Many hands make light work in the cleanup department- check out our hardworking crew!

Final step was to build a real firepit, again with lots of help.  We gathered rocks from the land, laid out a base of gravel and fire bricks, circled it with stones, and lit our first fire.  We look forward to many years of campfires, evening storytelling, enjoying time with friends and relaxing by the shore in this special spot.
