C's joke of the day:
What is a polar bear's favorite breakfast?

We attended the annual community celebration where neighbors gather to cut ice- just as has been done at many northeast ice houses for 200+ years. It was amazing to watch the volunteers cut blocks, channel them into the conveyor, slide into place into the house and pack in sawdust. Years ago this ice would provide valuable refrigeration to fisherman and local residents alike. Click here and here for more information about ice houses in New England and beyond.
Fresh winter snowfall on Saturday morning made for beautiful, icy trees, and joyful wagon rides for families braving the cold at the ice house.
Warmed up with a batch of tried and true chili and corned bread- I claim no secrets on these ingredients, click the links and try the recipes yourselves.
Until our next visit, cheers!
