Remember the storm in late October? Three trees down prompted quite a bit of yard cleanup. Much of the downed trees are now cut into firewood- once it's
seasoned, it will make for warm winters ahead. Can't wait to get the
woodstove installed and operational.
What couldn't be split made for several huge brush piles, so we had our first of many brush fires on a calm December day. Minding Smokey the Bear's rules, we had a safe burn. All conditions (no wind, ground covered with snow) met the Fire Department's guidelines- burn permit issued, now let's get this brush pile burning!
Thankfully, a hearty work-woman's lunch awaited these fire-tenders. Bill prepared stuffed chicken with fresh tomatoes and avocado. Divine.
Our final weekend morning, the air was clear, the water frigid and the sun bright-- we leave you with this peaceful view of smoke on the water (Deep Purple, anyone?).

Looking forward to enjoying a wood stove fire next year— you certainly have enough firewood!
