No glamour here, but it needs to be done. And Joe is just the excavator to do it. He cleared the stumps, graded the driveway and house site, installed the septic and leach field, saved rocks for the stone wall, and all with a smile. We will be thanking him for years to come!
But the trees, they needed to be moved by yours truly. And so we did. Truckload after truckload of enormous chainsawed tree trunks pieces, all lined up for future splitting. Who knew we could help lift anything so heavy?! But the more we did, the easier Joe's job was, and we want to keep Joe smiling, yes we do.
And while we all were working along, the concrete guys came and went making the pouring of our little pad look simple (no doubt thanks to Maggie's careful supervision). Hey we're really making progress here- well check, septic check, foundation check-- onward and upward!
This little Haven at the head of the cove is taking shape, and we are so fortunate that family came to this land generations before, building a homestead on love and laughter, carving out space for our future. May we carry on the legacy with honor and gratitude. September 2017
